Hilliard Davidson H.S. Swim Team

Good afternoon HDV Swim Families, 

I hope you are all doing well. 

The team had a terrific first meet of the season. Though I could not be there, I followed the meet on Meet Mobile, and our awesome coaches kept me in the loop. While there is room for improvement, your athletes executed the skills and strategies we have been working on in practice. We had several personal-best swims, and Macie, Hannah, and Laken all qualified and competed in the A-Flight finals! Well done, team!! 

Important Reminder From The Athletic Office

• All Final Forms required parent and student documents must be signed, and participation fees must be paid for your athlete to be eligible for this weekend’s competition. If the forms and fees are not paid, they will not be able to travel to the meet on the bus or swim.

AJ Glover Invitational

• This Saturday is the AJ Glover Invitational in Mason, Ohio. We still need volunteers to help with the meet. Here is the link if you would like to help.

• Our bus will leave from HDV promptly at 7:30 am. All swimmers should be at Davidson by 7:15 am. Swimmers should bring a lunch bag with snacks and a water bottle, their team suit, cap, t-shirt, jacket, goggles, and towels.

Thank Yous

• Thanks to Kelly Johanssen, our booster board vice-president, for coordinating our Chipotle fundraiser. We are receiving $115.71, which is 25% of the sales brought in by our supporters.

• Thank you to Stephanie Pflieger for providing breakfast this week.

Exam Week

• Our practice schedule remains the same during exam week. That being said, your swimmers are scholars first. If they need additional time to study or they need extra rest so they can be their best for the exam, they are excused from a mandatory practice. If your swimmer will miss practice, please remember to email Coach Lynn.

Upcoming Competitions

• I have attached a document with our meets through the beginning of January. All swimmers should be at HDV 15 minutes before the bus departure time. At the conclusion of a competition, your swimmers will text you with our estimated arrival time at HDV. We will also send a message via Parent Square. Please be on time to pick up your athletes. Thanks!

Senior Leadership Updates

• As you know, we have adopted a Hilliard family for the Christmas season. Our goal is to raise $790.00 to purchase gifts for the family. Please have all donations sent to senior Eva DiRienzo (Venmo @edirienzo07) by Monday, December 15th.

• The Senior Leaders have planned a team Christmas Party to be held at the Dirienzo home on Saturday, December 20th, at 7:00 pm. All swimmers are encouraged to attend and should rsvp to Eva. Additionally, there will be an optional Secret Santa gift exchange. Swimmers, if you are interested in participating in the optional Secret Santa gift exchange, please contact one of our seniors.
