HDV News - Nov. 5th
Good morning, HDV Swim & Dive Families,
We have a whole week under our belts. The team has done an excellent job getting used to the morning routine. Thank you, Senior Leadership Team, for helping this happen.
I have a few thank yous to share, and I want each of you to know how much your contributions mean to us. Your support is what makes our team thrive.
- Thank you, Kelly Johanssen and Heather Dauer, for coordinating and providing baked treats for our team get-together at Coffee Connections. Though our group was small, everyone had a fun time. We want to make this an annual event.
- Thank you to the Nothem and Johanssen families for providing our first team breakfasts of the season. The swimmers and coaches always look forward to the breakfasts.
Team Reminders
- Our spirit wear sale, which closes on November 10th, allows you to show your support for the HDV Swim and Dive team. Three dollars from every item sold goes to our fundraising account, directly benefiting the team. Here is the link to our store. You may also find the link on our website.
- Tonight is our first restaurant spirit night. If you do not have dinner plans, please consider purchasing food from Chipotle at Mill Run. The flyer with the information is attached.
- Our Senior Recognition meet will be on Sunday, January 19, 2025. When I have them, I will share the final details, such as the report and competition start times.
- On Sunday, November 17th, at 4:00 p.m., the HDV Swim & Dive team will serve the Hilliard YMCA by painting and light cleaning the facility. This volunteer activity is not mandatory, but I encourage all athletes to attend. We will not only be helping the Y, but it will also be another opportunity to work together and grow as a team. Parents and friends of the athletes who need volunteer hours are welcome to attend.
- Swimmers who use epi-pens and/or inhalers, please remember to label them and bring them to practice. We will have an easily accessible place to put these items during practices. We have this safety measure to help you.
- Team picture day is Friday, November 15th, 3:15 —3:45 p.m., Seniors; please let me know what you will be wearing. Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen, please plan on wearing a black short-sleeved T-shirt without any writing or graphics and blue jeans without any holes or tears. Order forms will be forthcoming.
Athletic Administration Reminders
- Thank you for ensuring you and your athletes signed off on all the forms in Final Forms. Some of our athletes' physicals are expiring soon. Please be sure new physicals are completed and uploaded when the old one expires. If an updated physical is not in Final Forms, athletes may only practice or compete once a new physical is in the system.
- Our athletic training staff reviews all physicals. If they see something concerning or a form is not signed, they may contact you for additional information.
- Please remember to watch the Winter Sports Presentation and sign off on the required form. An email with the presentation was sent via Final Forms earlier today.
- Please remember to pay the "Pay To Play" fees. If you have a financial need, please do not hesitate to contact Coach Lynn.
Have a great week!
Go CATS!!
Coach Lynn
