Hilliard Davidson H.S. Swim Team

Good morning, 

HDV Swim Families, 

Despite a stressful start to our day on Saturday, our swimmers performed very well at the AJ Glover Memorial Invitational. I have posted the scores and meet results on our website. I often tell the team to expect the unexpected; our scheduled bus not coming to get us was definitely unexpected! Thankfully, with the assistance of our athletic secretary, Lori Bruce, Darby coach Brent Bower, and the Darby swimmers, we were able to get our team to the meet safely.

Thank Yous

• Thank you to the AJ Glover Foundation for their generosity and for providing our team with personalized t-shirts.
• Thank you to Hilliard Bradley coach Jacob Shiplet for all he did as meet director for the AJ Glover Invite.
• Thank you to the AJ Glover Foundation, the City of Mason Aquatic Center, and all the volunteer meet workers for an outstanding meet.

Congratulations

• Congratulations to HDV Swim Team Senior Ian Wiksell and the three other worthy recipients of the AJ Glover Foundation character-based scholarships. Well Done!

Practice Change & Whetstone Meet

• With finals week coming to an end and a meet on the same day, we will cancel practice this Friday morning.
• Our bus will depart from HDV on Friday at 4:45 pm.....fingers crossed. Please meet in the commons at 4:30 pm. The competition will begin at 6:30 pm. There is no entry fee.
• The entries are posted on our website. They will look different from previous meets. The coaches and I want to see some of our swimmers compete in different events. Also, with four teams competing our entries are limited for each event.

Dublin Irish Relays

• The Dublin Irish Relays meet is this coming Saturday, December 21st. The bus will depart from HDV at 3:00 pm. Swimmers should arrive at HDV at 2:45 pm. We will meet in the parking lot.
• The format for the meet is an all-relay format. The order of events is attached. Entries will be posted later this week.
• The competition will begin at 4:30 pm.
• I have not yet received confirmation on the entry policy. Usually, spectators enter through the facility's breezeway doors. However, if spectators must enter through the main doors, please be prepared to show your driver's license at the check-in desk.
• Swimmers are encouraged to wear holiday clothing etc.

Christmas Break Practice Schedule

• Our practice schedule is on our website. I have attached the Christmas Break portion of the schedule.

Travel Forms

• Attached is a Hilliard City School District Travel Form. Completion of the form will permit your swimmer to ride to a competition with a parent or a coach when a Hilliard City School bus is not available. Athletes may not ride to competitions with another athlete. If your swimmer is 18 years old, they may drive themselves to a competition when a bus is not available. Please email or have your swimmer give me your completed form by this Friday, December 20th.

Reminders

• If your swimmers will miss practice, please remember to email me at [email protected].
• We need parent drivers for our meet with Watterson on Monday, January 13th, and our OCC Championship meet on Friday, January 17th. We will not have a bus for either of these meets. Please let me know if you are about to assist with transporting our swimmers.
